The PSU collection is is the first public archive of its kind dedicated to the ephemera associated with art and social practice works. The archive was initially established around project materials associated with the Portland State University Art + Social Practice MFA program and will grow to include socially engaged art ephemera from around the world.

Socially engaged art is often experiential and context specific, and subsequently experienced by most people through documentation and ephemera related to artist projects. The establishment of an archive which is accessible on line allows social practice artists to expand their audience while providing expanded research material for those interested in learning about socially engaged art and artists.
